Turning 30 this year, a little bitter sweet. Still single - job is a temporary contract thinking of the next phase is not easy - dating badly.

I try to listen to my soul but all i want to do is to just clear whatever task given from work.

Don't know will i ever be feeling complete with someone who going to love me. I mean - all i wanted is to be loved as much as i love the person or more. With this sie i don't think i will be - happy.

Life - its all about lights camera post and action keyboard warrior.

At this point in my life, i hope that i can get my own house, a permanent job with great scale of opportunity with no Will alike kind of person.

Don't think I'm crazy when I realize Will is a weird person. I don't hate him, he's just not my cup of salad. Therefore i have to dislike. Hating somebody just take a lot of energy out of me. Even Jenn notice he love to plot here and there and in the end same hit "I won't do that its so out of my character" etc. I rest my case, i'm done. Don't need to force myself to make peace with someone who i really lost every single respect for, and trying to stab me from the back... bye.

I wish i'm happy with life and like how i used to always look forward for the morning. If someone deserve to die, that's me. I just - hate myself. Hate everything about myself. I'm glad though that at least going to work its easy now bcs its all about work and less gossip and drama. Glad that i choose Jenn bcs she's so funny. Laughter really boost someone happy meter even for a little bit, it still counts.

If the project that we're handling didn't come together - i don't know what to say. Should i stay or should i just jump off loosing my life.

If a mere human weren't given a brain that's evolving and pretty much civil, i probably am a predator. Staying away from any eyes, alone up in the mountains taking shelter, and most probably hurting myself.

Tired of dating scene. What comes may, at the verge of giving up.

Basic Light - via Clint DiClementi tutorial

In 3d, there's many way of doing things to get almost the same result and this is one awesome method. Clint Diclementi have an awesome video on his YouTube channel and have a very clear explanation. Clint D basic light meant for indoor scene with a strong light entering from outside.

Skylight (standard) used it to give an ambient light to the environment. mrAreaSpot (standard) us as the strong direct light source. and mrSkyPortal (photometric) use to bounce light from Skylight (standard) into the jail cell.

Each step in his video is really good to understand and if you want more just Google example "3dsMax shadow parameter" and you'll get more explanation in 3ds max help page.

Important points:

- Be careful when you raise certain value, it might eat up rendering time.

- When you have a scene example like this, a light source coming in to light up the scene, and it still look dark doesn't mean you add more light because that will kill your render time imagine if it's a big scene. Only once you set the necessary lights, than try go to Render Setup tab and adjust the FG precision presets, how much you want the light to bounce off and make the final render not to look so fuzzy. Careful not too high though cause it might wash out the edges.

- I think using mrSkyPortal (photometric) light is useful because instead of adding another light source, we just use this to bounce off light into the scene.

- Marc Tan once said, an indoor scene wall without any thickness, 3dsMax light might pierce through if there was any pierce on wall surface. Therefore it's either you extrude the wall thickness or, the fastest way is to apply a Shell modifier.

Ahri Polycount competition

It's my dream to paint ahri and this is the best time. Very busy lately so i didn't post much so here we go, entering the competition. As i go along with this painting i keep on changing certain stuff. Hope it'll all worth it and most importantly - improve my painting skills. #breakawayfrom3d #justhavefunwiththis

maybe this might be the final. Thought of touching up more.

testing while on a 5 min break at work XD

New job new life, the business.

Quote of the day: When you have the passion, don't just talk numb on that same spot.... do walk the walk and it'll drive you else where better.

Got a job as a 3d Artist and it's interesting how blender really turn my head 360. Hard to explain. From maya to be a 3dmax user and now mastering Blender, biggest challenge ever. Another challenge, didn't stop my freelance too.

Here is one of my freelance i did. Really enjoy doing photo props that also link with the special event, Macdonald Samurai burger photo booth. And if you visit some macdonald on their All day breakfast session, you'll see the awesome shirt print by me XD I just loving it. Thanks to my great friend Saiful for the many experience offer. Worth the sleepless night.

So for the past four months busy with task given. Awesome people, environment and really challenging business.

So as i explore blender, this is one of the many mini experience or should i say test water. Usually for this type of result, i would choose 3dsmax base mesh, bring it to zbrush adding more details and basically baking high res to low res. But, unfortunately that is not the workflow.

What I've done is a super super low model with realistic texture. That's what my aim is.
1) create basic shape of a cut down tree and some land (get more challenge so can see how far this would work) Unwrap it.
2) Use Insanebump, it works wonderfully. If it doesn't work, try dump its folder into ur computer document folder. For some reason, that works for me. just fyi.
3) And from there i just follow the tutorial. Using cycle render.

There is some rumors stating that in blender, Cycle render can bake maps now. Hmm.... some tutorial i found say i might need to use script??? Not so into scripting but, will look into it soon.

My first experiment was this cup. Knowing i would be started modelling on my first week, get me hype and test drive a little. A little bit annoying at first but now, I work faster on modelling. Just need more practice on controlling the lighting and more in dept how blender works.

Again using blender, cycle render achieving a photo realistic look for this model. Come out pretty good.

End this with.... that first blog showed one of my many practice with game texture. You know what, its worth the practice because as a 3d artist, not only you got to have good eye for 3d space and understanding software, lighting and texture included too.

Now still busy with a game character concept art.

01: Painting Texture for games? Stylize.

I found this tutorial by Jamin Shoulet from Academic of Art University. If that school is next to mine and i can effort it, I'm joining his class for real.
Link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c_GWVez_UHM

People say we as an artist will get bored of this ..... nnNOPE. Be it animation or modeling 3d or 2d, it's always fun and I'm very keen to learn, more than what I've acquired. Most of the times from videos and sometimes, i head down to the library to clear my doubts on online tutorials.

Back to Jamin Shoulet, basically his class is about painting stylize texture for games. It's painting time!! Go to the link and watch his part 1 and part 2 class altogether only four hours, and probably you get something like the image above.

I never knew that photoshop can filter > Render > fibers. What this fiber render can create is both hair and somewhat quick wood texture.

Create clouds or use a rough concrete texture example, to create a base color. Than have another two layers above it that is screen and follow by multiply. From there you just need to play around. Base color or texture is important because you won't get interesting bricks or walls if it's just plain and clean.

After following his quick class, I realize that:

1) You can do some stuff within 20 mins instead of searching for realistic image bcs that would take forever. Now I'm wondering should i just go for stylize texture than realism. Time + expensive transportation money = is it possible? hmm.

2) Textures may be useful in saving poly budget in a game but never forget to have bump and most importantly specular map.

3) With what I've learn from his tutorials, I can do more with what basic stuff I learn from him. Paint anything except... water.
